Kindergarten Dual Language Teacher
Ms. Melissa has been teaching for four years in the Dual Language Kindergarten class at Namaste. Ms. Melissa received her bachelor's degree at Northeastern Illinois University in Bilingual / Bicultural Elementary Education. Ms. Melissa was born and raised on the Northside of Chicago. Ms Melissa is a proud mom of Amilia, who is 7 years old. In her free time, Ms. Melissa enjoys spending time with her daughter, cleaning, and exploring this beautiful city. Ms. Melissa believes that the best part of being a teacher is to see each child grow.
What is your favorite place in the world and why?
My favorite place is Mexico because I love its beaches and it makes me feel at home.
Where would you most like to travel to and why?
I would love to travel to Japan because it has beautiful temples, sanctuaries, delicious food and precious traditional clothing.
Who do you admire most and why?
I admire my dad because he has always pushed me to be my best self. My father came to this country to give his children a better life and did not stop until he succeeded. My dad has a very big heart and always helps people in any way he can.
Who was your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was Ms. Rivera. Ms. Rivera was a very strict teacher and gave me a lot of homework. But when I grew up, I realized that she just wanted to push me to my maximum capacity and to learn as much as possible so I would become someone.

My favorite thing about Namaste is the teachers who are so hardworking and dedicated, the super students and the awesome families.
