Namaste Scores BIG on the 2008 ISATs
Namaste's holistic approach to education is working! Illinois Standards Acheivement Test (ISAT) scores were released by Chicago Public Schools (CPS) this fall and Namaste Charter School is ranked among the top ten of all charter schools in Illinois! Furthermore, 89% of Namaste students met or exceeded Illinois State Standards, compared to an average of 68% across CPS. Additionally, students' vigorous activity levels increased by nearly 50% and students' body mass index (BMI) scores decreased or remained consistent with healthy levels. The results of a parent satisfaction survey conducted by CPS also show great results with 98% of families satisfied or very satisfied! These outstanding results bode well for the future of Namaste students and provide proof that Namaste's innovative programming, rigorous academic instruction, health and nutrition training and regular exercise are working!

Namaste Breaks Ground on Renovation and
Construction Project
It's finally happening! This month Namaste broke ground on a $7 million renovation and construction project to transform its current building into its long-term home! Namaste will add a 13,000 square foot addition to the building that will house seven new classrooms, a library, a third gymnasium/fitness center, an elevator and additional administrative offices. The addition will provide a new main entrance to the building with increased security capabilities and ADA accessibility. The existing building will also get "modernized" as we add air conditioning, new lighting and increased electrical power. This project would not be possible without the advice and dedication of our Facility Committee and the tireless efforts of our construction partners - Vistara Construction Services, Berglund Construction and Holabird & Root Architects.
